Maria Padilla

I'm Maria Padilla, born and raised in Oxnard, CA. I'm a mother, daughter, sister, partner, friend, and added new role nurse to the mix. Balancing work, family, and a relationship, I have very little time to explore interest outside my work and home. Even though nursing has been a passion of mine, I had a strong desire to help my community that share our struggles as Latinx and immigrants in this country.

In a low point in my life, I turned to my friend Andy for advice. It was very comforting to find out and she was going through a similar situation and both felt completely loss. We realized that we shared many common struggles. It was then, over margaritas and the overwhelming feeling of despair to find answers to our endless questions, that the idea of building a platform for our Latinx community was born.

I am a Womom, daughter, sister, tia, best friend, proud nina & a chingona (even when i ugly cry) A typical mujer making it in this world. The regular day to day circumstance that might occur in your own life. Surviving and switching the dial on our future for better returns in life.

Im fond of everything art, I have a big tattoo, Im a nurse and have a successful business going on with one of the coolest, smartest, bonita-est nurse friend ever.

My life is/can be “traditional, cultural, religious, unorthodox” with both parents involved, other fam members as well as friends that might have influenced me some type of way.
